Major Trip
Every winter, MHS sends a team of students abroad to serve for up to two weeks with medical teams in mobile units or local clinics. For countries that are short-staffed and underfunded, our undergraduates provide relief aid to healthcare providers serving rural farmers, poor families, and "invisible" populations. The benefits are two-fold: people who need care are able to get treatment and the MHS team experiences incredible hands-on clinical practices.
In conjunction to sending down personnel, MHS also brings along medications, gauze, bandages, vitamins, blood cuffs, and money to donate to the clinics and programs with whom we work.
In the past few years, our students have gone to Guatemala and Peru. This year we will be traveling to Quito, Ecuador!
